Brown Sugar Fudge

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • ¾ cup carnation evaporated milk
  • 2/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

In a medium saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar and white sugar.  Bring to a boil.  Add evaporated milk slowly, stirring constantly.  Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.  Add icing sugar in small portions at a time, stirring rapidly.  Remove from heat.  Beat with electric mixer for approx.. 2 minutes.  Stir in nuts until combined. Pour into 8” x 8” pan lined with Unstick and let cool.  Once set, slice into squares and enjoy!
